MKDons vs Bolton

Karl Robinson’s side made a flying start to life in the Championship with a 4-1 victory at Rotherham United, but were brought back to earth with a 1-0 defeat at home to Preston North End at the weekend.

Winger Rob Hall will be unavailable to face his parent club, while Mark Randall is again considered doubtful.

For Bolton, manager Neil Lennon could welcome striker Zach Clough back into the fold, while David Wheater, Derik Osede, Liam Trotter and Max Clayton all remain sidelined. The club remain the only side in the Championship yet to score this season.

Robinson and Lennon are good friends, but the Bolton manager insists that friendship will be put to one side for 90 minutes.

Speaking to Bolton News, Lennon said: “I know Karl Robinson very well – he’s one of my best friends in football. I was delighted for him last season to get promotion.

“I am really pleased to see him in the Championship – he has waited a long time for that and has been knocking on the door for a while.

“But the friendship will be let’s say competitive tonight.”
